Cleveland History Days was limited in its' events last year due to the Covid mandates but is planned to return to a full schedule this year. Once again, Midwest will be hosting open houses in conjunction with Canalways Partners for the History Days celebration. Scheduled to start on June 24th and continue through July 3rd, there will be tours and activities of interest to everyone wishing to learn more about our hometown's illustrious past. Watch for scheduled events and open house dates here.
Regular Open House events have been on hold for the past year due to the Covid mandates and construction in the rail yard. We will once again be scheduling regular open houses this year, beginning in the Spring. Once the schedule is finalized it will be posted here, in the Marker Lights newsletter and on our social media pages.
Until that time, however, we have reinstituted the small group tours that were popular last Summer and Fall. These tours can be reserved through Etix and can be made for family groups up to 10 people of all ages. The tours begin in the Historic B&O Roundhouse and continue outside in the rail yard with the volunteer tour guide giving thorough backgrounds and histories of the many unique pieces of equipment that can be seen on our site. The tour ends back at the roundhouse where an update of the current in house restoration projects are discussed in detail.
Tours can be reserved for Saturdays only from 11:00am until 3:45pm at 15 minute intervals.
