The Midwest Railway Preservation Society (MRPS) is an all-volunteer, not-for-profit 501(c)(3) corporation based in Cleveland, Ohio. We are dedicated to collecting, preserving, restoring, displaying, and operating railway equipment for the education and enjoyment of the public.
The organization was founded in 1955, and since 1975 has been based at the former B&O Roundhouse on West 3rd Street in Cleveland. We also own a 125-year old train depot in Glenwillow, Ohio.
We currently own over 20 pieces of vintage rolling stock, including the 1918 USRA light Mikado steam locomotive - the "4070" - that provided the original motive power for excursions in the Cuyahoga Valley. We also own the corporate name of the now-defunct "Cleveland Terminal & Valley Railway" that once operated out of Cleveland.
If your organization would like to learn about the history of our local railroads, our MRPS historian will come to your meeting location to present an interesting and informative program. For further information, please call 440-740-1327. There is a $75.00 fee, and your group will need to provide a computer with a USB port, PowerPoint 2003 or newer, and a computer projector.
